Andrej Pejic Is A Better Marylin Monroe Than She Was

Call me weird, but I'm mildly obsessed with androgynous model Andrej Pejic. One, because he's insanely versatile--he walked in both mens and womens clothing in several shows this year-- two, because he's hilarious (he once faked a pregnancy in an airport), and three, because he totally lives up to his title of 98th Sexiest Woman (yeah, you read that right) by FHM magazine. Love Cat magazine, which I have never heard of but am now intrigued by, put out first a video (cheekily titled "Norman Jean") and then photos of Pejic as Marylin Monroe a la the JFK time period. Styled by Patricia Field, the Monroe resemblance is uncanny: thick cat-eyes, pouting pink lips and, of course, the blond wig. Plus the styling is so perfect--a salmon letterman jacket, a fuzzy, tight blue sweater and, last but not least, an electric blue dress made of what seems to be cellophane-y plastic paired with a neon pink headscarf and retro sunglasses. I'm not sure which I like better, the real Marylin or Pejic's campy vixen version.

Here's the video...

Kate Winslet on the cover of V #73
Kate Winslet on the "Heroes Issue" cover?? Yes, please! She looks absolutely stunning. I wish I had bold brows. And a beauty mark.

long time no see...

It's been a busy summer, to say the least, and between blogging for Fashionista and my other jobs it's been difficult to keep this baby updated. Something's gotta give, amIright?
Well, not anymore. A sincere effort shall be made to update this frequently starting .... now!

To start your morning right, here is Chanel's amazing ad for their fall nail polish colors (with the exception of Peridot, which I'm dying for) featuring hands dancing cabaret and climbing the Chanel stairs. Love.
